Our Volunteers

Esme Edwards is a graduate of Kings College London having studied Liberal Arts (an interdisciplinary humanities and social sciences degree). Whilst at Kings, she secured a place at UNC Chapel Hill, North Carolina (Spring Term 2023) as part of a study abroad exchange programme. She is currently working in communications. In addition to volunteering at Palewell Press, Esme has also volunteered for a homeless charity (Kitchen For York), She likes to travel and explore new experiences

Rohan Namnaik is a digital marketing professional with expertise in social media strategy, content creation, and online brand development from Roehampton University. He volunteers with Palewell Press, supporting the publishing team by managing social media platforms, promoting new book releases, and assisting with digital outreach. Rohan is passionate about using his skills to amplify the voices of writers and contribute to the success of Palewell Press's publications.

Matilda Atkins is a Graduate in Philosophy, teaching Philosophy to children, and EAL (English as an Additional Language) to adults through a charity called EAL Richmond Friendship Group. As well as volunteer editing during the 2025 submission process, Matilda chaired a Panel Discussion on Human Rights at our 2025 Book Festival.

Scarina Joseph studied Classical Studies with English at King's College London. At the moment she works as cabin crew, but has always been passionate about publishing and thought this would be a great start to understand how it works. She is excited to continue volunteering and contributing as much as she can. 

Anissa Karimov is a third year English Literature and Film and Television Studies student at the University of Exeter, who is volunteering at Palewell Press in order to gain experience within the publishing industry. Currently in a student work placement at Toyota, she has over a year's worth of social media and copywriting experience in both freelance and corporate settings.

Rebecca Kerr is pursuing a PhD into how the necropolitical logics of disposability and visibility are reproduced/resisted by the UK's publishing industry, as well as in fiction written by and about refugees. In addition to volunteering at Palewell Press, Rebecca also volunteers at Solidaritee charity helping refugees in Greece.
