The Ghost of Franz Kafka is the ninth collection from radical Folkestone-based poet, Patric Cunnane. He also writes short stories and plays.

Patric was born in Purley of Irish parents. His mother, Nora, came from County Clare and his father, Martin, from County Sligo, both situated in the mythical, musical and fabulous west of Ireland. In 1984, together with union colleagues, he founded the socialist cabaret, Ragged Trousered Cabaret, to provide entertainment and raise funds for the embattled labour movement during the Thatcher years. RTC can be enjoyed at occasional reunions. Patric was active in performance groups Tongue Circus and Worthless Words in the early eighties. He is a former Labour councillor in the London Borough of Merton. A journalist by trade, he has had many years experience as NUJ (National Union of Journalists) father of the chapel and chairman of the European Works Council at a large publishing house.

His other publications include Dance Music, Baltimore and Looking For Eden, published by Dodo Modern Poets, and Roads, published by Badger Books.

Along with fellow poet and artist PR Murry, Patric runs Dodo Modern Poets which holds regular events in London and elsewhere. New and established poets present their work to audiences at readings and festivals throughout the UK and Ireland.
