Rachel Sambrooks is a stand-up poet and writer originally from Birmingham. She was long-listed for the CLiPPA award with her first children's poetry collection The Strangest Sandwich in the World and was finalist for Sitcom Trials in 2016. She regularly receives Arts Council funding for her work, touring the collection Stand By Your Nan with stories of grandmothers in a comedy show nationally. Her poems have been published in anthologies on and in Shoreline of Infinity magazine and her writing has been heard on BBC Radio. She lives in London with her husband and two teenage daughters
In 2020 Palewell Press published Harpy, her pamphlet of poetry and short stories on Women's Rights, Feminism, Motherhood and Abuse.
