Rocio defines herself as Writer. Actress. Artist. Lioness. She writes about the duality of things and of people because, for her, it's in this realm of possibility where magic is found. She explores the darkness in the stories she sees and hears around her and in her own story, always trying to find the magic in both the ordinary and the extraordinary. This duality, this sense of normalcy being able to change abruptly to fantasy, is where she sits. From here, she can see hope for the real world.
Writing: Her debut short play, The Hill, about knife crime, premiered at Katzpace in January 2019. She is currently working on Fire In An Empty Space - her first full-length play, which is about the intersections between mental and sexual health. And she is forever filling notebooks with poetry and stories. In August 2020, Palewell Press published Useless Now but Beautiful Still, her pamphlet of short stories on Women's Rights, Feminism and the Psychological impact of social pressures.
