Secret Love Letters - Poland 1982 is a prose and poetry memoir by Anna Maria and Tomasz Mickiewicz, and Piotr Rogoyski. Anna Maria and Tomasz were lovers, torn apart by the imposition of Martial Law in Poland on the 13th of December 1981. They had to communicate furtively, lest their letters be intercepted by the state security services, which had eyes and ears everywhere. Their friend, Piotr, offered to carry letters between the lovers, highly risky as they were both actively involved in the workers' and students’ resistance movement.
Secret Love Letters - Poland 1982, containing letters from that time, Anna's poems and essays on Martial Law in Poland, launched in July 2021. You can order a copy for £7.50 (excluding postage) from this page.
