Hardi Kura: Voice Notes
Friday 04 July 2025
18:00 to 19:00
In April 2025, Palewell Press published Hold to Record - Voice Notes from Refugees celebrating the voices of those who have experienced displacement. As part of the New Music Biennale 2025, Hardi Kura: Voice Notes features telephone messages from the anthology's refugee and migrant contributors combined with electro-acoustic sound manipulation and the use of directional speakers.
This event includes two performances of the same work and a short interview with the creative team in between the two, enabling audiences to experience the second performance with greater insight into the creative process. Presented in association with Another Sky Festival, written by the composer, sound artist and improviser Hardi Kurda and the librettist Sarah Jackson, with Compass Collective, Counterpoints Arts and New Writing North.
