Launch "The Hope We Still Hang Onto"

Tuesday 03 March 2026
19:00 to 21:00

The Hope We Still Hang Onto is a memoir of prison, resistance and sisterhood by Arinda Ojeda Aravena, translated by Barbara Mitchell. Join the translator, and Camilla Reeve of Palewell Press, to hear readings from this inspiring book and learn how personal strength and solidarity among the female political prisoners played a crucial part in helping them survive.

The translation was commissioned by Consuelo Rivera-Fuentes of Victorina Press. After her death, Palewell Press was asked to take over the publication. During the launch, we will be paying a tribute to Consuelo's legacy as a Human Rights publisher.
